Thanks for visiting our site, come back soon! Thank you SO much for your message! Our little guy is doing a bit better, but is still working through the wheezing and coughing. Thank you for your well-wishes! They meant a lot and were truly appreciated! It seems like it has been a tough cold season for a lot of folks. It was standing room only at our hospital ER... and they even had to turn away ambulances because there were so many folks needing assistance! Anyway...It did stop life while we took care of him. Amazing how that happens! I did manage to stay away from sugar while I was in the hospital... But Rob and I had originally talked about having two days 'off' from our no-sugar challenge to enjoy a treat (Valentine's Day and his b-day). Well, we had a nice 'Valentine's Day' dinner yesterday (at a restaurant... WOO HOO since I'm not a very good cook unfortunately. Any time we go out to eat is a treat!) We ended it with two lovely desserts. Well... having sugar again, after not having it for so long, started the cravings again. We unfortunately blew it tonight... Recreating the dessert we so enjoyed last night. It is such a vicious circle. And to be honest, I feel absolutely sick right now. It wasn't worth it, that's for sure. We fell back into our old patterns - I think mainly because we are finally coming down from the stress of this past week. But we should have found a different way. I just can't do moderation... I know everyone says that's the way so that you don't feel deprived, but it just sends me into a tail spin! So.... we are back on the no-sugar plan tomorrow (natural sugar okay like fruits and juice - just no processed white sugar). Is there a way I can help support you with your thought of doing limited/no sugar? With only a month left... we really want to hit things hard and just go all out. We lost ground this past week and want to make up for it! We are going to do a mini-challenge, taking a week at a time. We are going to have small rewards for making it each week (my rewards...time to myself while Rob takes both kids, take a bath without interruptions, manicure, a new outfit.) I really want to lose as much as I can before the challenge is over in March so that I can get our momentum rolling before it ends - as we still have a long way to go. I also have a goal of fitting into a black dress for our 10th Anniversary in May... and may even go out and buy one in a size 12 as a goal. Anyway... Not sure if any of those suggestions are helpful... But honestly, if you want to do a no-sugar through the end of the challenge with us... I would love to cheer you on and send encouraging words your way! Let me know how I can help! Us "Cheryl's" have to stick together!

Tamerawrote:
I had to look your site up because I am a "Tammy" and my sister is a "Cheryll," I know we don't spell our names the way you do, but it is fun! You both seem to be doing quite well, in spite of not feeling well. I hope you are feeling better soon.
We are cheering for you!

BIGGEST LOSER MILLION POUND MATCH-UP: WE'RE READY!!!February 05 Not my best week...So I'm thinking that this week didn't happen, it was all a bad dream... I obviously didn't lose weight but I'm thinking maybe muscle does weigh more than fat. It couldn't be the two margaritas I drank with extra olives for superbowl! February 03 Busy...busy...So, my wonderful son shared his cold with me, and here it is Sunday morning and I'm laying in bed with a vaporizer going, January 30 Making progress...Wow, what a week! Tami and I are both doing well, losing a little slower than we'd like, but feel that it will benefit us in the long run. We're making positive changes, and exercising regularly. I have been eating a variety of frozen diet lunches, from Lean Cuisine to Healthy Choice, at work, and really finding I like some of them!!! : ) They are pretty easy on the pocketbook, too, if you get them on sale. I've also been eating the South Beach diet bars for breakfast when I don't have time to make eggs, and that seems to be a good balance for me, too. Anyway, keepin it up! That's the key, hope you are all doing great! January 26 We are OFF to EXERCISE!!I think we are finally on track with our exercising. Since Tami has joined the gym, she's working hard at making time to fit in her workouts. I went Friday out to the fitness center at our nearby Naval base with my principal. She's awesome! She's very fit and helped me through an hour long workout of cardio and weights. I did my 25 minutes at home today on my elliptical, spent some time on my ab lounger, and my arms are still feeling the effects of my workout today. I can't wait to check my measurements Tuesday. I figure even if the weight is coming off slower then I'd like, it's worth it if the inches are melting, right? I feel good, I'm eating well, so I'm excited. Did I mention I'm doing an individual contest at my school too, as well as this one with Tami, and it's for cash! I may need that to buy some new clothes when I reach my goal right? : ) Anyway, hope everyone is doing well with everything. Stay in touch!! January 21 Taco SoupSo, I'm sort of recovered from my Packers losing yesterday, in Lambeau field... the misery of it all!! I know, there is more to life than football... now I can focus on my weight loss journey, right!?!? Tami mentioned my Taco Soup recipe... and our wonderful supporters Laurie & Tammy asked about the recipe... well, my secret is not all mine! It's straight from allrecipes.com. LOVE that site. At the site, just type in "slow cooker chicken taco soup" and it comes up. It's easy and fabulous. I use a can of chicken broth and a can of water instead of the beer... I've made it both ways and it's delicious, but my kids preferred the "broth" recipe better. So glad my 17 yr. old didn't like the "taste" of beer in it, not sure how he knew the "taste" since I didn't tell him about it!! : ) Anyway, the "healthiness" of it depends on the add-ins you throw in when the soup is ready, suggestions are crushed tortilla chips, sour cream, shredded cheese, all good if you can get a few moderate pinches in of each. Enjoy it if you try it, my family does. The good news is I've been exercising... the bad news is that craving Tami told you about that I was having after my Packer loss last night to drown my sorrows, well, I won't say whether or not I gave in, lets just say I'm SOOO glad I got in that GREAT morning workout before the big game! Not looking forward to weigh-in tomorrow... good luck to all of you! |
Setting and achieving them!
